Post Driverless HGVs in the UK

For trials. The idea being to have several tailgating each other in convoys. Personally, I thought we had an-increasingly electrified-Rail network for that, but wtf do I know?

Well what could possibly go wrong with 6 tons of autonomous metal hurtling down a busy carriageway?

I'm guessing that even if/when these things become usable, they'll still need someone in the cab in case of emergencies.

There's a decent argument that getting rid of driver error will improve safety dramatically.
