SNES classic announced!

https://twitter.com/NintendoAmerica/...69032947847168

Here's the game list:

Contra III: The Alien Wars™
Donkey Kong Country™
EarthBound™
Final Fantasy III
F-ZERO™
Kirby™ Super Star
Kirby’s Dream Course™
The Legend of Zelda™: A Link to the Past™
Mega Man® X
Secret of Mana
Star Fox™
Star Fox™ 2
Street Fighter® II Turbo: Hyper Fighting
Super Castlevania IV™
Super Ghouls ’n Ghosts®
Super Mario Kart™
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars™
Super Mario World™
Super Metroid™
Super Punch-Out!! ™
Yoshi’s Island™

Everyone of those games are brilliant, but it will probably be like rocking horse shit to get hold of one.

Would get on to the GAME website right now if you're worried, but my guess is that if you order off Amazon reasonably quickly you'll be fine this time round.

Raspberry pie 3 with retropie installed and 2 wireless controllers and you can have all this plus nes/megadrive/etc/etc. Set me back about £80 for all the kit.

Did they just stop making the classic mini NES one that was also rare as hens teeth (unless you were prepared to pay stupid money).?

Yeah. My guess is they just allocated a particular production capacity, burned through that dramatically quicker than they expected. This one round I expect they'll try and match that a bit better.

Managed to order one for us and one for my eldest in Granger Games. As of this morning they were still taking orders until they receive an email telling them to stop. Also got told Very.co.uk had a pre order page up this morning, but I can't find it.

Don't pay over the odds. If they're making more of the NES, they'll definitely make more SNES.

Just been to pick them up, as the shop opened at 8am today for SNES mini and FIFA 18 launch. Just in case anyone is interested, it looks like some shops have got more than they expected, as they had a limited number for general sale.

I've got this too but trouble is you can get loads of input lag which ruin games like Mario/Donkey Kong Country. I've messed about with it no end using different TVs and different settings and they all have some degree of input lag which wasn't present on the original machine. It's not too bad on my main TV with it set to game mode for most stuff. But I just can't get on with any of the platform games.

I've got an original SNES/Mega Drive on a CRT TV upstairs and it's a million times better experience and the graphics look much better too. The only trouble being the cost of buying the original games isn't especially cheap.

I'm interested to see how well the new SNES mini compares on a modern TV but i'm not sure I want to shell out for it with the limited games you get with it. When they announced these minis i assumed you would be able to use the original cartridges too and without being able to add more games it seems a bit pointless to me.

You can get flash cartridges which you put in the original machines which have all the games installed so you are playing on the original hardware. I really want to get one of these but i don't think any of the SNES ones support save states. There's one for the Mega Drive which does support saving states but it's £100+ and difficult to get hold of.

It's brilliant, the only negative I can find is the d pad is a bit squishy. Oh, and the controller cables seem shorter than Nintendo said they would be.

Missing a ton of classic titles that. Forbidden Forest, Ant Attack, IK+, Wasteland. Also if it's going to be a dummy keyboard, why not make it way smaller I wonder? anyway, props for the speedlink clone. Wish there was a Konix option though..

If anyone needs them, here's a dump of instruction manuals for all the games on the SNES mini.
