Next generation nvidis graphics cards. ..when are they coming?

anyone any links to the next generation nvidia cards? Surely someone must have something? I was quoted within three months. Anyone any more clarity on this?

Was under the impression this year would be full of ti of existing cards and the latest cards were to hold the awards for the next twelve months. Anyone correct that?

Don't hold your breath, tbh.

There's nothing official on them yet, just lots and lots of speculation and rumour.

Posted this in the rant threat the other day.

2080 is the same price as a 1080Ti! - 2080Ti is over 1k!!

So, it's all about the ray-tracing now?

Yes I make memes now.

Yeah the prices are mental.

Brocken 21-Aug-2018 17:06

They're not really meant for most people on release. The ray-tracing facility of the card (as far as I understand) won't be taken advantage of by games for a while.

Probably a decent opportunity to buy a cheapish 1080 or 1080ti on ebay

Inertiaman 21-Aug-2018 21:09

Alternatively the mining rush has caused Nvidia to utterly lose their minds.

devs 22-Aug-2018 14:31

if they are sold out most the time, why not increase the price? makes good business sense. Just looking, since bitcoins got more attention in media last year, their share price has done well.

There was a thread on Reddit where loads of people cancelled their pre-order.

Lungboy 23-Aug-2018 07:19

NDA doesn't lift until the 14th by the sounds of it, so no reviews for ages unless someone gets a hooky card.

Eja Cool8 23-Aug-2018 13:58

I think my feed had some graph on Techradar that showed steady 60fps or more in newer titles at 4K with ray tracing. As always though, wait...

Eja Cool8 28-Aug-2018 16:39

Mmmm. Saucy.

Eja Cool8 21-Sep-2018 15:41

4K moistness. Not cheap though;

The current gen graphics card market is one I have zero interest in. An absolute nonsense to pay 900+ for rendering games. New PC sellers are going to get slaughtered by consoles/appliances as long as this gibberish continues.

Lungboy 21-Sep-2018 16:27

Yeah, it's crazy this generation. Rebadged 1080tis as 2070s and 1080s as 2060s might be ok though.

Inertiaman 21-Sep-2018 17:05

Last gen bargains at 600 quid.

NWA 21-Sep-2018 17:10

I paid less than that for my 1080 when it was released. Mining has fucked the market, not nVidia.

Inertiaman 21-Sep-2018 17:25

Wasn't casting any blame against nvidia. rawmat prices are high. Our currency is trash. Demand is absurd. You name it. It is what it is but it's killed my two yearly upgrade that's for sure!
